ポール・バターフィールドB.B.による2NDアルバムにして代表作『East-West』リリース直前の1966年春、マイク・ブルームフィールド在籍時の貴重なライブ音源が正規リマスター盤として初リリース! 粗削りだが若さ爆発のエネルギッシュでインプロビゼーショナルなプレイは、その後のアメリカのロックの歴史に大きな影響を与えた! 貴重な蔵出し写真や当時のメンバー、エルヴィン・ビショップ、マーク・ナフタリンによる解説が付き、未発表曲「Comin"Home Baby」、「Memory Pain」なども収録。

アーティストについて
ポール・バターフィールド・ブルース・バンドは、1963年シカゴでハーモニカのポール・バターフィールドとギタリスト、エルヴィン・ビショップが中心となり結成された白人ブルース・バンド。その後、天才ギタリスト、マイク・ブルームフィールドをメンバーに加え、エレクトラ・レコードと契約。1965年7月にニューポート・フォーク・フェスティバルに出演し衝撃を与える。さらにフェスに出演していたボブ・ディランのバックを急遽務め、さらに話題となる。同年、デビューアルバム『The Paul Butterfield Blues Band』を発表。翌1966年7月、セカンド『East-West』を録音、翌月発売。アルバムは彼らの代表作となり人気を決定づけるも、ブルームフィールドが脱退し、第一期黄金期を終える。本作は、まさにそんなブルームフィールド在籍時の1966年春にボストンはユニコーン・コーヒー・ハウスで行われた貴重なライブなのだ。1st、2ndの収録曲を中心に未発表曲も演奏されている。過去にブートレッグが出回っていたが、現在は入手困難のため、今回ファンとしては待望の正規盤リリースとなる。
